John Laidler Chartered Accountant

John Laidler is a principal at Hartley Partners - Chartered Accountants. He has worked in the profession since 1969, with experience in providing accounting services for small to medium size business enterprises and individuals.

John began his career in accountancy with Ernst & Young, and was later a manager and partner with the Melbourne practices of Nelson Wheeler and Pannell Kerr Forster. He has also worked in corporate enterprises in sales & marketing and accounting roles.

John is a Chartered Accountant who specialises in business and taxation planning for individuals and privately-owned family businesses. He also specialises in providing business advice and accounting services to referral/network marketing and direct sales organisations.

At Hartley Partners, John Laidler has built a solid reputation in providing our clients with internal reporting, business review and consulting. He also provides Hartley Partners clients with BOS(Business Optimiser System) Reports, which enable clients to look at how their decisions impact on their business, before they implement those decisions.

John's expertise also covers cashflow management and forecasting, business planning services, superannuation, estate and family financial planning and corporate secretarial and accounting compliance.

David J Pratt - Consultant

David Pratt was formerly with the firm Nelson Wheeler Chartered Accountants and was admitted into partnership there in 1970. He became Managing Director in 1974, and worked closely with corporate clients to revitalise the firm into services such as Corporate Reconstruction, Public Company Listings, Audits of Public and Private Companies and the Government Sector, Business Advisory, Taxation Consultancy and Insolvency and Reconstruction.

By 1983, under David's guidance, Nelson Wheeler had become the largest independent firm of accountants in Australia with 73 partners and over 1,000 staff with offices in every State as well as Singapore and Hong Kong. The expansion into Asia attracted corporate clients from Australia, Europe and the USA who were seeking business opportunities in the emerging Asian markets. In 1988 Nelson Wheeler merged with Pannell Kerr Forster.

Since 1992, David has worked as a private consultant to Australian corporations where he has applied his vast business experience and sound knowledge of commercial opportunities in the Asian region.

Since 1985, David has established and successfully managed a grazing property in rural Victoria renowned for its quality Merino sheep and Angus cattle and high level of production.

At Hartley Partners, David provides a comprehensive range of business services and specialises in taxation consulting, corporate reconstruction and business finance to enterprises with potential for growth.

Jean-Luc Carrere - Associate Partner

Jean-Luc Carrere is a Chartered Accountant with over seven years experience in small to medium sized accounting practices. This has resulted in exposure to a diverse range of clients, both in business size and industry sectors.

As a consequence of this hands-on experience, it has taken only one year for Jean-Luc to form a strong relationship with the clients of Hartley Partners Chartered Accountants. Jean-Luc's ability to provide a range of taxation and value-added accounting and financial services allows him to exceed client expectation and provide ongoing, quality client support.
